After a career as a bank lawyer with a large, state-wide law firm and in-house counsel for two national mortgage lenders, I realigned my career goals to build a practice representing individuals and families facing financial hardships or life changes due to aging and disabilities. I am committed to representing my clients with diligence, experience, and compassion. In return for the confidence my clients place in me to help resolve critical issues they face, I strive to provide a high level of service in return.
I am a native South Carolinian and graduate of the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina Law School and have been practicing law for over thirty years. My experience representing creditors gives me a unique insight when crafting solutions for my consumer clients with debt issues. I have been helping individuals in the Midlands find solutions to financial problems for over ten years.
When my family and I experienced the issues that most families face when a parent or loved one advances in age and needs assistance with estate and long-term care planning, I realized that a myriad of legal and financial issues must be addressed and have built a practice helping individuals and families with these issues. It is important in my practice to address a client’s needs holistically by considering the legal, financial, medical, family, and social issues the client is experiencing.
I am an active member of the South Carolina Bar Elder Law Committee; the Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Section; and the Consumer Law Section. In additional, I am a member of the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. I am also committed to providing pro bono legal services where needed in my community and frequently represent pro bono clients referred to me by the South Carolina Bar as well as clients referred to me by South Carolina Legal Services.
